First Grade Math Information

Mrs. Cavender​

Mrs. Cavender has been teaching for twelve years.  She is a graduate of Towson University with a Bachelors of Arts degree in Elementary Education and she holds a Masters degree in Leadership in Mathematics from the College of Notre Dame.  Her career began at Hampton Elementary as a fifth grade teacher. After five years she moved to first grade at Hampton.  In her free time, Mrs. Cavender enjoys watching and playing sports, scrapbooking, spending time with her two daughters Lilly and Reese, and playing with her huskies Niko and Bandit.

Ms. Eickelberg

Ms. Eickelberg graduated from Grove City College with a degree in Early Childhood/Elementary Education.  She has a Masters Degree from Loyola College as a Reading Specialist.  Her teaching career began in BCPS where she taught second grade, first grade, and kindergarten at Rodgers Forge Elementary.  This is her fifth year of teaching first grade at Hampton!  In her free time, Ms. Eickelberg enjoys reading, shopping, the beach, and spending time with family and friends.

​Ms. McKew

Ms. McKew graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park and earned her Masters in Education at Drexel University. She taught first grade at McDonogh School before coming to Hampton Elementary in 2013. In her free time, Ms. McKew likes to run, watch sports (Go Terps!) and spend time with family and friends.

Mr. Sutphin

Mr.  Sutphin is in his eighth year in education! He is a graduate of Towson University with a Bachelors of Arts degree elementary education and he holds a Masters degree in leadership in elementary mathematics from Notre Dame of Maryland University.  He taught second grade for six years and this is his second year teaching first grade. In his free time, Mr. Sutphin enjoys playing miniature and card games, going on outings with his family, reading books, and watching movies.
