First Grade

Ms. Barron

Ms. Barron has been at Hampton since 2020. Ms. Barron graduated from Towson University with her degree is Integrated Early Childhood and Special Education in 2019 and began teaching right away. Ms. Barron has previous experience teaching Kindergarten and First Grade. In her free time, she loves to spend time with her friends and family. 

Ms. Kotrla

Ms. Kotrla has been at Hampton since 2018. Ms. Kotrla graduated from Stevenson University with a degree in Elementary Education in 2018.  She is set to graduate from Loyola University in Spring 2022 with her Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on Teaching English Language Learners. She also has her certification in Early Childhood Education. Ms. Kotrla has taught Pre-Kindergarten and First grade. In her free time, Ms. Kotrla loves to travel, read, and spend time with her dogs and family. 


 Mr. Morton

Mr. Morton has been at Hampton since 2020, after teaching first grade at Pleasant Plains Elementary School for three years. He graduated from the University of Virginia, earned a master’s in journalism from Columbia University and most recently a master of arts in teaching from Goucher College in 2016. In his free time, Mr. Morton likes to hike, train for triathlons and spend time his family.

Ms. Teal

Mrs. Teal started at Hampton Elementary School last year.  Before teaching at Hampton, she has taught at many different schools, but most recently, Perry Hall Elementary.  This is Mrs. Teal's 25th year of teaching and her 18th year in first grade. She has also taught 2nd and 3rd grades. Mrs. Teal attended Loyola College for her graduate degree and Salisbury University for her undergraduate degree.  While attending Salisbury University, Mrs. Teal had an opportunity to continue her studies in New Zealand where she learned new   ideas about teaching students how to read.  When Mrs. Teal is not in school she enjoys spending time with her family.
